Some Good News!

On April 23rd, 2015 we had the opportunity to play Anthem’s International Music Festival  to represent Minneapolis at the Acadia Pub. This was a unique opportunity to not only play for a couple of charities, (Children of South Africa – chosa.org and Musary, a music lending library located in Boston – themusary.org) but to also play our first live show as a 6 peice band. Overall, we had a fantastic time and we got to share the stage with 5 other fantastic performers as well as represent our city. For those who are newer to the realm of this project it started off as a solo-acoustic act over 10 years ago, so this was a huge deal for the band and I.

Perry Project's first show as a 6 piece band.

One of the other cool things about this festival,  is the organiser’s put together a way to get the regional acts noticed. Other major cities are hosting this festival and many other acts are also playing this festival. If you are chosen as a city representative you get to move onto a “regional face-off” (more details here) where you are put up against approximately 70 market champs. Well, just a few days ago we received an email…

Our judge selected Perry Project as our City Representative, so congratulations!! This means Perry Project will be moving on to the Regional Round which will take place online in October…Thank you and again congratulations!!

We are happy to say we got chosen to represent Minneapolis! Final voting begins in October and The IMF champion will receive an all-expense paid international tour.  We are very optimistic about this and honored (check out our IMF artists page).  We will need your help come October to make what appears to be a dream, a reality. A big thank you goes to Paige Fults of The Anthem Group who helped everyone so diligently to set this event up.

More Later…

Best,

First Practices Underway.

Over a month ago I posted an ad seeking additional band members to join Perry Project. After numerous interviews from interested musicians I found 4 awesome, and talented individuals that shared the same passion and vision.

Yesterday we had our first practice as a band and it could not have gone any better. Everyone was in agreement that it exceeded all expectations and are looking forward to the next practice.

This is a huge milestone for the project as it keeps the vision alive. All we need now (as far as members) is a capable keyboard player to finalize the sound and to add that extra bit of polish we are looking for.

More updates to follow.

First Reviews Are Out.

The first reviews are starting to come out for my debut album. I was a little worried about the response, I put so much into this project and no one likes rejection.  The majority have been really positive so far and I couldn’t be happier about that unless I want to get really greedy of course and expect all perfect scores. 🙂

I know an artist’s worth is not measured in a review. If I read every review before I bought an album, my personal music collection would not be what it is today. These first reviews however mean a lot to me and are only one step of many as I push forward to accomplish what is next for Perry Project.

One reason the reviews are very important is it helps validate this project beyond what just me or some friends have to say about it. Validation is a very important next step. I want this project to be heard by as many that are willing to listen, I want to start a movement with this project (I know, I dream big).

“Can’t Steal Soul” Is Out.

Hello all,

Yesterday my debut album titled “Can’t Steal Soul” was finally released!  The excitement, anticipation and encouragement from family, friends and fans has been extremely supportive and uplifting, thank you all.

I will be spending the next year or more playing out and promoting this album as much as I can. There is an animated video already in the works that Emily Fritze is working on  for “Newfound View” and is looking very promising, we sat and talked for quite a while about the story-line for it and we are so excited to share it with the world in the next few months.

Again, thank you all for giving my album a listen and sharing it, the response has been amazing so far.

‘Till the next time,

x Tracy Perry x

Note to Self (Old Blog Post Series 1)

From time to time I will be posting some of my old blogs that I use to write when I was actively writing blogs on Myspace. Since Myspace has taken away that feature I figured I would add them here. To some, you have already read these, but too many more these are new. I will also post some older photos within the old blogs to give a more nostalgic vibe (that’s the plan anyway) Enjoy!

Note To Self (From January 16th 2011)

So does describing yourself in pre-meditated data, such as an about me, or things related, really determine 100 percent who you are as a person? My argument is no. The reason being that I arrive at such determination is because if you have lived on this great planet earth for some time like I have, you will find that to some people, you are never good enough. But damn, my about me that describes just how freaking perfect I am as a person says otherwise…hmmmm. Well sorry Captain Reader reading this. Some people find you unattractive, repulsive, ignorant, and fake. It’s only on internet social sites you are cool to all, until of coarse that dreaded “block” button is pressed. That will show you how unimportant you are to the world. Knowing this fact of life however at first was just a tragedy, I was in denial about my ability as a person to be not liked or repeatedly judged time and time again for pretty much simple mistakes or personality malfunctions. But the cog in the ever turning gear of life began to start turning once again.

My train of thought tells me that people have different day to day moods. Or maybe it’s just me who wakes up on the wrong side of bed, maybe I have wrong side of the bed syndrome, a doctor I’m sure has a medication for that type of disease. If he doesn’t than I should hate him for not having it, because surely it’s his fault for not creating it by now, surely. Please note that sarcasm takes place throughout this misguided peace of verbiage. New pickup lines consist of “damn, if only there was a like button on you” – or my new favorite – “if you were on Facebook, I’d friend the shit out of you.” You know what I need? A news ticker above my head so all my random thoughts are there for the world to see, that would be so awesome and socially acceptable I wouldn’t even have to speak. “Read my sign bitch, I’m doing laundry.” It would create an ever so loving atmosphere of people just nodding at each other’s willingness to go public just like a stock except you gain nothing out of it except maybe a thumbs up? Anyway the truth is, this was all written out of pure boredom and should only be taken as purely entertainment, every damn thing needs a warning label and this brilliant masterpiece is no exception to the rule. Keep on rocking. I in no way endorse these type of thoughts even though I wrote it. Peace, Love, and chocolate muffins.
